About Mesa, Az.                           

Mesa is Arizona's third largest city behind Phoenix and Tucson. It is located east of Phoenix about 20 miles from the center. The city is home to 439,041 people is not a typical suburban bedroom community, as it has it's own commercial and light industrial employers. Companies like Apple, Boeing, Banner Health, and MD Helicopter has established themselves here.

Mesa has 3 major shopping malls at Superstition Springs Mall, Riverview and Fiesta Mall, plus numerous strip shopping malls and big box stores, like Walmart, Macy's, Sears, Dillards, J.C. Penny and many more!

Mesa started as a Mormon settlement back in 1878, Mesa City was registered as a 1-square-mile townsite. The first school was built in 1879. In 1883, Mesa City was incorporated with a population of 300 people. In the early 1940's Falcon Field was started as a training facility for the U.S. Army Air Corps. Once trained here, many pilots came back to live here after the second world war.
